Data Submission

The data submission process in SkySync is built to reflect how people naturally notice and describe environmental changes. Rather than forcing strict formats, the system supports a variety of input types that can capture different aspects of local atmosphere and climate perception.

Each submission consists of:

  • Visual Input – A photo of the sky, clouds, light conditions, or visibility range.

  • Descriptive Input – Text-based notes describing the air, temperature feel, smells, or wind shifts.

  • Structured Entry – Optional short-form selections for predefined fields (e.g., “humidity felt high”, “visibility low”, “dust present”).

  • Micro-Forecast – A short weather prediction within the next 6–48 hours. Users can estimate expected conditions such as rain, haze, or temperature change.

Each data point is tagged with:

  • Timestamp – System-generated submission time.

  • Location – GPS-based point or user-confirmed zone.

  • Session ID – A unique identifier for each submission batch.

  • Identity Reference – A pseudonymous account ID, not linked to private user info.

Submissions are not uploaded to a central server. Instead, they are temporarily held in a distributed memory pool, pending review. This preserves network integrity and prevents premature data injection into the ledger.

All entries are meant to be simple enough for use in low-bandwidth or mobile-first environments, with offline caching enabled.
